Since Jim Smith’s visit to the school over a year ago (and since before that) there has been a move towards independent learning. There have been fantastic examples of teachers putting his ideas in to practice and coming up with their own ideas too. Jim’s book has been widely read throughout the school now (I know there are many copies floating around.) However, I now have three copies of Jim’s new book – ‘Follow me, I’m right behind you – Whole school progress the lazy way.’ This builds on the idea of developing independent learning but devotes a huge section to bringing about and then demonstrating progress in lessons.
If you want to borrow a copy, just let me know.
