Many thanks to Sam for the following article:

‘P4C or philosophy for children is about bringing the thinking skills from philosophy into the wider curriculum. It promotes higher-level independent thinking, more productive discussion and the ability to find new perspectives and ideas for any topic.

The first link is to a 25 minute video on the use of P4C in schools, focussing on it’s use in KS3 English.

The second is a ‘discussion toolkit’ on TES which contains a selection of slides, each one suggesting a different discussion-based activity which can be used in all subjects.

“It’s better to be a guide on the side than a sage on the stage.”
