Thanks to Ian for his top tip on getting students to create balanced answers through debate. His presentation is below. If you have students who are not so confident then I suggest using the forum function on Moodle to set up a debate. I’ve used this for my annual ‘who is the greatest person in medicine’ debate and it is effective in getting all students to participate.
